Playing
- How it works. Everyone gets the same 21 letters each day. Build one connected crossword and see where your score ranks. The rules and scoring are on How to play, and strategy is in Tips.
- New puzzle. A new puzzle starts at midnight in your own time zone.
- A word didn't count. Cruxword's dictionary has about 270,000 English words. If a real word was rejected, or a word you think shouldn't count was accepted, email us the word and the puzzle number.
- Your scores. Your scores are tied to a player id stored in the browser you play in. Clearing site data or switching browsers makes you a new player there; Plus can be restored (below).
Cruxword Plus
- Manage or cancel. On the device where you subscribed, open cruxword.com, tap Plus in the header and choose Manage Plus. That opens the Stripe billing page, where you can change your card, switch plans or cancel. Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Plus on a new phone or browser. Tap Plus, then Already have Plus? Restore it, and enter the email you paid with. We'll send a one-time link that unlocks Plus on the device that opens it.
- Billing problems and refunds. Write to us within 14 days of a charge and we'll make it right. The details are in the terms.
Cruxword in ChatGPT
- What it does. The Cruxword app in ChatGPT lets you play the day's puzzle inside a conversation and check whether a word counts. Ask ChatGPT to play Cruxword, or type @Cruxword.
- Leaderboard. Grids played in ChatGPT aren't sent to the cruxword.com leaderboard. To get ranked, play the same puzzle at cruxword.com.
- Removing it. Disconnect Cruxword from the apps or plugins page in your ChatGPT settings.
Your data
To delete your leaderboard entries, email record or analytics profile, email us your leaderboard name or email address. You can change your analytics choice at any time with Privacy choices in the footer. The privacy policy has the full details.
